SILVERSUIT
concealed in metal / shimmering suits of silver reflect everything around them / camouflaged in their surroundings they disappear / glistening brightly with refracted light from the sun’s rays / on this particular day they wear clear sheets of thin flimsy plastic over their armor / they are afraid of rusting in the rain / they are afraid of settling in the dust / the earliest armor was made of iron plates sewn on the inside of leather coats / the landscape is doubled in a mirror
a recording of the ocean is transmitted on a speaker in the desert / an echo from a previous state of being / an ocean covered much of what is now here / the water receded / the body dissapears / the ancient lake dried up and left behind particles of selenite / the transient remains have become miniature mountains / always shifting shape
